Adapting the auction process
2020 has been a year of adapting for everyone, but our auction team especially have been hard at work to make sure that we can still accommodate anyone who is looking to sell their property by auction, whilst also adhering to restrictions.
This saw us bringing the excitement of the saleroom to your living room by conducting our property auctions online. If you’re interested in seeing a full break down of the online auction process, you can read a post we’ve written on that previously here.

Dawsons Auctions have had 100% success rate during 2020 with the online platform and with professionalism, communication and care we have achieved 5 star Feefo reviews throughout the year.
We’re not the only ones who have had to adapt to this change though, our customers have also had to get used to the new way of doing things. We were really lucky to be able to speak to Helga Benson, who bought a property with us back in November. It was her first time buying a property at auction, let alone an online auction, and our auction team worked closely with her throughout the entire process.
An interview with an online property auction buyer
How have you been affected by Covid?
The lockdown presented some logistical difficulties in moving from North Wales to Swansea, and viewing properties for sale.
Were you apprehensive about the online auction?
Yes, as I’m not very computer literate and so much was at stake in finding a new home.
Did you find the online process easy to understand?
It was a new experience for me, but the staff at Dawsons guided me through the process so I felt more confident in the possible outcome
Would you bid through the online auction again?
No problem, but I’m very happy with my new home!
Were you pleased with the outcome?
Delighted, as it was so quick a process. A new home in two months during Covid is pretty amazing!
Did you enjoy the Dawsons experience?
A company is only as good as its staff, and Julie and Callum made the whole experience as easy as possible – very exciting afterwards!
Are you thinking of buying or selling property at auction?
If you’re nervous, it’s completely understandable – it’s something very new! However hopefully we can reassure you a bit by saying that overwhelmingly, people who have purchased properties via our online auction system have expressed their surprise at how simple and straightforward the process is.
